On 22 November 2024, we had the privilege of receiving a special visit from representatives of Ngāi Tūāhuriri (our local hapū), Aunty Tawhia and Maaka Tau, at our new offices for whakamoemiti and waiata (thanks giving and cultural blessings).
This was of particular significance to us as our meeting rooms are named after local awa (rivers), being Rakahuri, Waimakariri, Kowai, Okuku, Hurunui and Waipara. Ngāi Tūāhuriri also taught our staff how to correctly pronounce the names of these awa, which was very educational. We are delighted that our new premises has been culturally approved by our local mana whenua.
